“LET US HELP THE POOR” CAS Programme at DRSIS was successfully launched on 18th July 2009.

Having received a brief orientation on the programme the IB DP students set out to embark on the first project on the eve of Rakshabandhan and Friendship Day.

The students enthusiastically took up the task of designing and sale of rakhee’s and friendship bands for the two occasions under the guidance of the art and crafts department.

The entire event was planned and executed successfully by the students.

They worked in groups to set their marketing and production unit .Various posters generating awareness about the event were put up at strategic locations in the school campus .Handouts were distributed intimating the school community about the timings of the sale

The waste material in the arts and crafts department along with some new material was utilized for the production of Rakhees & friendship bands. It took around 10-15 days to complete the project, which includes production of 400-500 rakhees & bands, packaging, fixing the price and the price tags, designing market plan and creating and displaying the same.

The project was a roaring success .The students were able to generate a profit of Rs.5500, which would be utilized for distributing books and stationary for a Village School adopted by DRS fraternity on the forthcoming occasion of The International Literacy Day (8th September 2009).
