The 1st SAIBSA General Meeting in 2009 was held on 21st February at Jamnabai Nursee School, Mumbai. It was attended by 35 coordinators/Principals from IB Schools in India.
The meeting covered the encouraging reports of the Job Alike Sessions of DP, MYP and PYP held in January and early February, IBDC of India, IB representative, ,SAIBSA website and e-newsletter updates, inter-school activities, setting up the dates and programme for the forthcoming meetings and the Job Alike Session.
The new executive committee was unanimously elected which in turn elected the SAIBSA’s office –bearers. The new executive committee consists of:
1. Christian Chiarenza – DP Coordinator – The British School New Delhi
2. Kaisar Dopaishi – Vice Principal - Kodaikanal International School
3. Shaukat Hussain – Vice Principal – Indus International School , Bangalore
4. Finbarr O'Regan - Principal – Ecole Mondaile World School
5. Purtee Singh - PYP Coordinator – Choithram International School
6. Tarulata Hirani - Principal, Ahmedabad International School
7. Minu Joshi - MYP Coordinator Mahatma Gandhi International School
8. Taymur Mirza - Head Of School, The International School of Pakistan
9. Rep from Sri Lanka /Nepal/Bangladesh – to be finalized at the Regional Conference in March 2010.

A new dimension was added from this SAIBSA General Meeting was to include The Coordinators’ / Administrators Job Alike Session .In the afternoon this session was lead by Umar Jaffar. It was an interactive and informative session which dealt with:
• Indian Universities and IB
• After the results – transcripts, Indian equivalency & diploma.
• IB Certificate acceptability to Mumbai University.
• Academic Honesty
• A file containing the relevant documents was given to each participant.
The Principal, Vice Principal, The IB Coordinator and Management of Jamnabai Nursee School were gracious hosts and we would like to thank them for their support, cooperation and hospitality; all of which was in keeping with the IB spirit and philosophy. It was great net working with all those who attended the meeting and would also like to thank the school management for supporting this initiative by regularly sending their staff and administrators.
