University of Bath MA in Education

Ecole Mondiale World School is proud to announce its authorization as India’s first Centre for the study of Education in an International Context (CEIC) by the University of Bath (UK).
This centre will provide qualified educators the opportunity to participate in the University of Bath’s MA in Education programmes and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Teacher Award.
This programme witnessed the successful launch of its first unit in the spring of 2009 and since then has successfully completed two units, namely ‘Education in an International Context’ and “Curriculum Studies’
The third unit, ‘Understanding Learners and Learning’ will be offered at Ecole Mondiale World School, Juhu from the 13th to the 16th of March 2010.

This unit aims to:
• consider different perspectives on learning, on ways in which we learn and how learning can be supported;
• present the major families of learning theories and consider their strengths and weaknesses;
• recognise how approaches to teaching and instruction can be influenced by tacit and explicit learning theories; and
• Debate how knowledge gained about learning and learners can be applied in practical educational and training contexts.

The deadline for enrolment is January 15, 2010.
